Basketball Recap: Davidson Day Takes a Loss

Davidson Day lost against Christ School back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Davidson Day Patriots lost 83-63 to the Christ School Greenies. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Greenies are ranked first).

It was another big night for Madden Collins, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven boards and five assists for Christ School. The dominant performance also gave Collins a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Dacen Petty, who posted 17 points and five rebounds.

Davidson Day's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Christ School, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Davidson Day will take on Ridge View in a tournament on Friday. As for Christ School, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Knightdale at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th. One thing working in Christ School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
