Baseball Recap: Elkhorn Comes Up Short

Elkhorn lost against Gretna last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Antlers fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 3-2. The Antlers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elkhorn got a good showing from Max Beard, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Beard a new career-low.

At the plate, Elkhorn saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Slade Waggoner, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Elkhorn's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Gretna, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Elkhorn will take on rival Lincoln Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gretna is set to face off against their familiar foe Blair at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
