Football Recap: Cherokee Takes a Loss

Cherokee played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Greeneville Greene Devils and fell 62-7. The Chiefs have struggled against the Greene Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 5-2. As for Greeneville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. After each having a week off, Cherokee and David Crockett will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th. The Chiefs will be up against the Pioneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Greeneville, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Volunteer at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
