Football Recap: Halifax Wildcats vs. Minersville Battlin' Miners
Halifax unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 35-13 to the Minersville Battlin' Miners on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.
Although Halifax took the loss, they still got scores from Eli Miller and Brayden Midile.
Dante Carr had an outrageously good game for Minersville as he rushed for 100 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns. The Battlin' Miners' leading receiver Paiten Lapoint was Carr's top target yet again, picking up 86 receiving yards and one score.
Halifax and Minersville will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Wildcats are set to challenge their familiar foe Upper Dauphin Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Minersville will square off against rival Shenandoah Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
