Basketball Game Preview: Erskine Academy Eagles vs. Lincoln Academy Eagles

The Erskine Academy Eagles and the Lincoln Academy Eagles will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.

On Tuesday, Erskine Academy came up short against Mount View and fell 50-41. The Eagles have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Academy didn't have too much trouble with Maine Central Institute on Tuesday as they won 62-44. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Huskies are ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lincoln Academy has also been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Erskine Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Erskine Academy might still be hurting after the 67-44 loss they got from Lincoln Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Erskine Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
