Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Interboro). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Penn Wood Patriots a 21-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Jules Bergen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ava Rudolph was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Summer Burrell was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Interboro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.
