Volleyball Recap: Kiley Schmitz and Kalle Voy Secure Win for Wapsie Valley

Wapsie Valley not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 28, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They blew past the Oelwein Huskies 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Wapsie Valley was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-10, 25-17.

Leading Wapsie Valley to victory were Kalle Voy and Kiley Schmitz. Voy had 15 digs and five aces, while Schmitz had 11 digs and two aces. Those five aces gave Voy a new career-high.

Wapsie Valley's win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Oelwein, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Wapsie Valley will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grundy Center at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. Oelwein does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
