Baseball Recap: Dunedin Takes a Loss

Dunedin came into this matchup off a tough six-run loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Clearwater Tornadoes by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 5-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Colton Beard was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Madden James made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Dunedin has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. Clearwater's win bumped their record up to 9-4.
