Basketball Game Preview: Neuse Charter Cougars vs. Lakewood Leopards

Having just played yesterday, the Neuse Charter Cougars will jump right back in to play the Lakewood Leopards at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Monday, Neuse Charter was able to grind out a solid win over Rosewood, taking the game 65-57. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Lakewood waltzed into their game on Thursday with 18 straight wins... but they left with 19. They were the clear victor by a 68-47 margin over the Eagles. The Leopards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Lakewood's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points over those games. As for Neuse Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.

Neuse Charter might still be hurting after the 73-48 loss they got from Lakewood in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can Neuse Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
