Soccer Recap: Davenport West Comes Up Short

Davenport West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the North Scott Lancers, falling 9-1. While losing is never fun, Davenport West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 158th, while North Scott are ranked 43rd).

Davenport West's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for North Scott, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davenport West will face off against Orion/Sherrard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orion/Sherrard will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something Davenport West surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Scott, they will challenge Moline at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
