Softball Recap: Make It Nine in a Row for Prospect Mountain

14 must be Prospect Mountain's lucky number: they beat Trinity with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Timberwolves beat the Pioneers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-4. Winning may never get old, but the Timberwolves sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Alexis Wilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Tori Christie was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-6. Another player making a difference was Kylie Guptill, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Prospect Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.

Prospect Mountain pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.9 runs. As for Trinity, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
