Baseball Recap: Texico Wolverines vs. Pecos Panthers
Texico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell just short of the Pecos Panthers by a score of 11-10. That's two games in a row now that Texico has lost by just one run.
Jesus Chavez was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off ten hits. Chavez was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Daltyn Cain led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, a triple, and a run. Edgar Mendoza was another key contributor, going 3-for-5 with three runs, a triple, and a double.
