Soccer Recap: Matoaca Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Matoaca can now relate to. They lost 8-0 to the Midlothian Trojans on Friday. While losing is never fun, Matoaca can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Midlothian are ranked 15th).

Matoaca's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8-3. As for Midlothian, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1.

As of now, neither Matoaca nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
