Football Game Preview: Salem Quakers vs. Alliance Aviators

For the first time this season, Salem will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to challenge the Alliance Aviators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Alliance will be up against a hot Salem squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Quakers blew past Beaver Local 46-26 on Friday. Considering the Quakers have won three games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Alliance against Canton Central Catholic on Friday as the team secured a 42-7 victory. While fans of the Aviators might be used to big wins, the 35-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

The critical scores for Alliance came from Taije Nicholson, Ravhan Hawkins, JR Jackson, Caydan Sanders, Cashe Brisker, and Jarrin Blair.

One reason for the win was Alliance's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Alex Hartman and Grady Fast, who racked up four sacks between them.

Salem now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Alliance, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Salem came up short against Alliance in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, falling 20-16. Can the Quakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
