Basketball Game Preview: Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks vs. North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers

The Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks and the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cornerstone Charter Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Liberty 76-7. The win was some much needed relief for the Ducks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Grace Jervis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 28 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Lalelei Cox was another key player, posting 14 points.

Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for North Bay Haven Academy in a 44-27 victory over Bozeman on Monday. The Buccaneers pushed the score to 43-11 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bucks cut but never quite recovered from.

Cornerstone Charter Academy better keep an eye on Kaylee Goodpaster. She was instrumental in North Bay Haven Academy's win, almost dropping a double-double on 27 points and nine steals. Goodpaster is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Paicey Millirons, who posted 12 points and four steals.

The win got Cornerstone Charter Academy back to even at 3-3. As for North Bay Haven Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
