Basketball Recap: Struthers Takes a Loss

Struthers lost against Boardman back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Struthers Wildcats were beaten by the Boardman Spartans 80-47. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 627th, while the Spartans are ranked 88th).

Struthers' defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Boardman, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Struthers and Steubenville will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Steubenville will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Struthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Boardman, they will challenge Canfield at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
