Basketball Recap: Jimmy Huntington Takes a Loss

Jimmy Huntington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Minto Lakers and fell 70-18. While losing is never fun, the Hustlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Lakers are ranked 35th).

Minto found their leader in sophomore Tayla Baker, who posted 36 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruth Fox, who earned 12 points.

Jimmy Huntington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Minto, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, Jimmy Huntington will head out on the road to take on Nunamiut on Thursday. As for Minto, they have already played their next contest, a 62-44 loss against Walter Northway on the 15th.
