Basketball Recap: Kody Fort's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Galileo over Washington

Galileo lost against Washington back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Galileo Lions fell 64-53 to the Washington Eagles. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Galileo's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kody Fort, who went 6 of 9 en route to 15 points. The dominant performance gave Fort a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dean Belayadi, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Korey Abantao, who put up 17 points along with six assists and five boards. Johnson Chang was another key player, going 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Galileo's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Washington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Galileo will host The Academy - San Francisco at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Washington, they will square off against Wallenberg at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
