They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tippecanoe Red Devils. The Firebirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Tippecanoe, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

On Tippecanoe's side, they got a great performance from Anderson McKinney as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Tippecanoe's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carson Jackson, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
