Burgettstown was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Bethlehem Center on Monday. The Blue Devils blew past the Bulldogs 11-1. Considering the Blue Devils have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Matthew Bredel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jayden Roach was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Charles, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Burgettstown's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Bethlehem Center, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Burgettstown will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
