Softball Recap: Leonard Sets Scoring Season-High Against Howe

Leonard scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Howe Bulldogs, falling 19-13. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row.

Lauren Pemberton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two triples, and four RBI. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in February. Madison Prather was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run and three runs.

Even though they lost, Leonard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Leonard's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Howe, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-10 record.

We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Leonard will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Howe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pottsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering Howe has lost nine straight at home (dating back to last season) and Pottsboro five straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
