Baseball Game Preview: Pike Central Chargers vs. North Posey Vikings

Pike Central is 1-9 against North Posey since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Chargers will venture away from home to face off against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Pike Central lost 8-2 to Princeton on Tuesday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pike Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Albert Whitehead, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, North Posey came up short against Vincennes Lincoln on Wednesday and fell 8-5.

Ethan Mansfield made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Kade Buecher also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

Pike Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for North Posey, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Pike Central suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to North Posey in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
