Basketball Recap: Lake County Takes a Loss

Lake County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 52-24 loss at the hands of the Caprock Academy Eagles. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-9.

Leading Caprock Academy to victory were Taylor Phillips and Ashley Wilke. Phillips posted 14 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Wilke dropped a double-double with 12 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance gave Wilke a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Bogan, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds.

Lake County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Caprock Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 7-16.

As of now, neither Lake County nor Caprock Academy have any future games scheduled.
