Soccer Game Preview: Riverside Prep vs. University Prep

The Riverside Prep Silver Knights will venture away from home to take on the University Prep Jaguars at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside Prep is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Riverside Prep's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They skirted past Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy 1-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University Prep). Everything went their way against Lakeview Leadership Academy on Thursday as University Prep made off with a 10-0 win. With that victory, the Jaguars brought their scoring average up to 2.8 goals per game.

Their offense was hitting Lakeview Leadership Academy from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Daniel Yi led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Riverside Prep is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five games. As for University Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5-2.

Riverside Prep might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from University Prep when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Riverside Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
