Basketball Game Preview: Zion Christian Mountaineers vs. Concord Yellowjackets

The Zion Christian Mountaineers will take on the Concord Yellowjackets in a tournament on Tuesday. Zion Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.

Zion Christian proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 23) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They escaped with a win against Climax-Scotts by the margin of a single free throw, 38-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mountaineers have posted since February 4th.

Meanwhile, Concord had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.1 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They breezed past the Rangers to the tune of 52-22. The Yellowjackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.

Concord's win came from a few key players Zion Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bradie Lehman, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, she racked up eight assists, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Thorrez, who went 6-for-8 en route to 15 points and seven boards.

Zion Christian's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Concord, their victory bumped their record up to 21-4.
