Baseball Recap: Valencia Comes Up Short

Valencia was the 14-5 winner over Deming when they last played one another back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Jaguars came up short against the Wildcats on Friday, falling 12-4. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valencia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pryce Henry, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Henry is becoming a predictor of the Jaguars' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-2 (and 2-7 when he doesn't).

Valencia now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Deming, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Valencia by a score of 11-0 later that day.
