Basketball streakers: No. 3 Duncanville, New London streak on

Germantown boys continue to dominate Division I in Wisconsin.

The Duncanville (Texas) girls basketball juggernaut rolled past No. 10-ranked Bowie (Arlington, Texas) 61-40 on Friday during the Class 5A regional semifinals for its 67th consecutive victory.

The Dallas Morning News reported that the defending state champions were led by 5-11 junior guard Ariel Atkins with 20 points, including three breakaway layups off turnovers to spark a 9-0 run in the second quarter. Senior Kiara Perry added 16 points.

The Pantherettes, No. 3 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 national rankings and No. 1 in the computer-generated Freeman rankings, will play Coronado (Lubbock) (36-1) for the regional title today.

* The New London (Wis.) girls raised their winning streak to 63 with a 54-34 victory over Marinette (Wis.) to close out the regular season. The Bulldogs have won the last two Division 2 state titles.

* The Riverdale (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) girls kept pace with their 52nd straight win, 69-45 over Shelbyville during the Class AAA region playoffs as Olivia Jones scored 15 points,. They will play Oakland on Monday.



* Dutch Fork (Irmo, S.C.) won its 39th straight game with a 40-24 victory over Aiken in the Class 4A state semifinals and will play Dorman next Friday for the state championship. Six-foot-five University of South Carolina signee Alaina Coates led the defending champs with 20 points, 13 rebounds and six blocked shots.

* On the boys side, Germantown (Wis.) raised its winning streak to 51 with a 90-22 rout of Waukesha South in the Division I regional semifinals. Seven-foot Indiana University recruit Luke Fischer led 14 players in the scoring column with 25 points.
