Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jordan Rivera and Matthew Barrett Lead Jupiter Christian to Victory

After losing to Boca Raton Christian the last time they met, Jupiter Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Jupiter Christian Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-53 victory over the Boca Raton Christian Blazers on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since January 25, 2024.

Leading Jupiter Christian to victory were Matthew Barrett and Jordan Rivera. Barrett dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Rivera almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Barrett a new career-high in blocks (four). Another player making a difference was Sam Jackson, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Jupiter Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boca Raton Christian only racked up nine assists.

Boca Raton Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Joshua Good and Caleb Jeemias. Good put up 19 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Jeemias had 18 points and three steals. That was a full 35.8% of Boca Raton Christian's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Valvo, who earned eight points.

Jupiter Christian pushed their record up to 4-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Boca Raton Christian, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Jupiter Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-61 win against Master's Academy on the 10th. As for Boca Raton Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 81-57 victory against Glades Day on the 10th.
