Recap: Peddie Falcons vs. Episcopal Maroon

The Peddie Falcons lost against the Episcopal Maroon back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Peddie took a serious blow against Episcopal, falling 50-15. Peddie was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.

Episcopal was led to victory by Ava Sawi and Princess Akojenu. Sawi scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Akojenu scored 14 points along with four steals. The game was Sawi's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Amelia Offutt, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.

Peddie's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-2. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.4 points per game. As for Episcopal, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peddie will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hill School at 4:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024. After both having extra time off, Episcopal and Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:45 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
