Basketball Recap: Doddridge County Has No Trouble Against Moorefield

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tucker County, Doddridge County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Moorefield Yellow Jackets 58-32. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Jerod Trent, who went 6-for-8 en route to 13 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.7% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Jaden Solomon, who posted nine points and five boards.

Doddridge County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 20 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Doddridge County's record now sits at 16-2. As for Moorefield, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

Doddridge County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-41 win against Calhoun on the 17th. As for Moorefield, they will venture away from home to take on Pendleton County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pendleton County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Moorefield likes a good challenge.
