Riverview hasn't had much luck against Newsome recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Riverview Sharks will face off against the Newsome Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Riverview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Riverview and Spoto meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. Riverview fell 9-4 to Spoto.

Brady Rebello was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Justin Edwards also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Newsome fell victim to Plant City and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-0. The Wolves' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Riverview suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 5-4. As for Newsome, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Riverview couldn't quite finish off Newsome in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can Riverview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
