Baseball Recap: Arnold Comes Up Short

Arnold has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.63 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the South Walton Seahawks, falling 10-1. The Marlins haven't had much luck with the Seahawks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Arnold saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Hendrix, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Hendrix has posted since back in February.

Arnold's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for South Walton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Arnold will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Bozeman at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Arnold has won four straight at home, while Bozeman won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for South Walton, they will head out to challenge Maclay at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (South Walton 2.4, Maclay 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
