            Baseball Recap: Colby Eagles vs. Burlington Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Scott, Colby was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. They walked away with  a   9-6  win over the Burlington Cougars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  6-5  last Thursday.

 Max Kersenbrock made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Kersenbrock was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  triples and two  runs. Those  two  triples gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Talon Andreason, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI.  Kasen Stramel was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with two  RBI and one  double.
Colby's victory was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 8-4. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Burlington, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
 Coming up, Colby will venture away from home to  take on Hugoton  on Tuesday. As for Burlington, they will welcome Calhan  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.69  runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
