Soccer Game Preview: Escondido Charter vs. Pacific Ridge

The Escondido Charter Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Pacific Ridge Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Escondido Charter's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Escondido Charter is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering La Jolla Country Day just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Torreys by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Pacific Ridge entered their tilt with Maranatha Christian on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They beat the Eagles by a goal, winning 1-0. The Firebirds' winning goal came courtesy of Audel Mobasher.

Pacific Ridge's win bumped their record up to 8-2-3. As for Escondido Charter, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5-2.

Everything went Escondido Charter's way against Pacific Ridge when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as Escondido Charter made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Escondido Charter since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
