Softball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

If Lincoln was feeling good fresh off their 21-2 takedown of Mira Loma on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fighting Zebras lost 12-4 to the Oakmont Vikings on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Fighting Zebras in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost five in a row.

Mia Maldonado was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Oakmont, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oakmont, they will take on Colfax at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
