Volleyball Game Preview: Melrose-Mindoro Mustangs vs. Osseo-Fairchild Thunder

The Melrose-Mindoro Mustangs will challenge the Osseo-Fairchild Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Melrose-Mindoro is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since October 2nd on Thursday. They came up short against Blair-Taylor, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 25-16.

The losing side was boosted by Opal Buchanan, who had eight assists and six digs.

Meanwhile, Osseo-Fairchild was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Alma Center Lincoln. While the Thunder didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hornets 25-21 in the first set.

Osseo-Fairchild wouldn't go down easily and took Alma Center Lincoln into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 17-25, 15-9.

Melrose-Mindoro's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Osseo-Fairchild, their loss dropped their record down to 3-21.
