Baseball Recap: Miller Place Panthers vs. Rocky Point Eagles

Miller Place extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 6-13 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rocky Point Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-0 defeat on Thursday.

Miller Place saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Moore, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Nick Frusco was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

As for Rocky Point, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games.

On Rocky Point's side, Alek Wozny made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Wozny a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
