Basketball Game Preview: Providence Pioneers vs. La Salle Lancers

Providence hasn't had much luck against La Salle recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Providence Pioneers will challenge the La Salle Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Providence knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully La Salle likes a good challenge.

Providence is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Whitney with a sharp 64-41 victory.

Meanwhile, La Salle strolled past Salesian with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 54-36.

La Salle has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-17 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points over those games. As for Providence, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Providence ended up a good deal behind La Salle in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, losing 48-33. Can Providence avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
