Football Recap: Live Oak's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

If Westmont wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Live Oak, they should've done a better job of containing Gage Jones. The Acorns simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Warriors 42-7 with plenty of help from Jones, who rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Jones is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 161 every time he's taken the field this season.

The victory keeps Live Oak at an undefeated 4-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 30.5 points thus far. As for Westmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coincidentally, Live Oak and Westmont will both be playing Pioneer the next time they take the field. The Acorns will head out to face the Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Warriors will host them at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
