Softball Recap: Declo Has No Trouble Against Melba

Declo hadn't done well against Melba recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Mustangs. The Hornets not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 15-5).

The team relied heavily on Claire Wilson, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Shayli Stevens, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Declo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Declo's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Melba, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-15.

Declo has already played their next game, a 10-4 defeat against Malad on the 16th. Melba does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
