Basketball Recap: Monroe County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Monroe County took on Opp on Thursday. The Tigers fell 75-64 to the Bobcats. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

DJ Hines had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 37 points and 16 boards for Opp. The game was Hines' ninth in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Savon Barnes, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Monroe County's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Opp, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Monroe County and Excel will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.57 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Opp, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Georgiana at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
