Soccer Game Preview: El Campo vs. Royal

The El Campo Ricebirds will face off against the Royal Falcons on Thursday. El Campo will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

El Campo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They beat Manor New Tech by a goal, winning 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for El Campo as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Jose Lopez Mirada and Andre Martinez scored both of El Campo's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, Royal hasn't lost a match since January 10th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Royal who was credited with the victory. Royal got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to East Chambers' four.

Royal pushed their record up to 20-3-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 61 goals over those nine games. As for El Campo, their win bumped their record up to 17-5-2.
