Recap: Broken Arrow Tigers vs. Ponca City Wildcats
The Broken Arrow Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 24 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Ponca City on Friday as Broken Arrow made off with a 61-37 win. The win was just what Broken Arrow needed coming off of a 61-34 defeat in their prior contest.
Broken Arrow's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Macy Marraccini, who scored 20 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Mathurin, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Broken Arrow's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Ponca City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broken Arrow will be home for the holidays to greet Stillwater at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stillwater will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Broken Arrow is ranked 102nd). Ponca City will be home for the holidays to greet Muskogee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
