Baseball Recap: Wellborn Comes Up Short

Wellborn managed to slip by Ranburne the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers lost 7-1 to the Bulldogs on Friday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wellborn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zack Pressley, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Wellborn's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Ranburne, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6-1 record this season.

Wellborn will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Weaver at 4:30 p.m. As for Ranburne, they will head out on the road to challenge Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
