Baseball Recap: Straughn Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Straughn entered their tilt with Brantley on Monday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Brantley Bulldogs 13-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-10 last Monday.

Saxby Radford was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Straughn: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Eli Grissett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases.

Radford wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Straughn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Straughn pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Brantley, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Straughn will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Luverne at 2:00 p.m. on March 31st. As for Brantley, they will challenge Elba at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
