DeSoto Central took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Germantown, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jaguars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Mavericks on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jaguars have posted since September 28, 2024.

DeSoto Central was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 14-25, 24-26, 25-17, 15-12.

It was another big night for Hallie Willis, who had nine digs and two assists. Those nine digs gave her a new career-high. Marlee Mueller was another key player, getting 22 digs and two aces.

DeSoto Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Germantown, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, DeSoto Central will head out to face off against Center Hill at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Germantown, they will be playing at home against Northwest Rankin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
