Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Victory Christian Academy

Victory Christian Academy entered their tilt with Haines City on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Hornets get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kason Dansforth looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Victory Christian Academy let Landon Cuzzone and Nate Thomas run wild. Cuzzone scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Thomas scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Cuzzone also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Collin Strickland, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Victory Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

Victory Christian Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Haines City, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Coming up, Victory Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Foundation Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Victory Christian Academy will need to watch out since Foundation Christian Academy has now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Haines City, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on April 7.
