Basketball Recap: Doniphan West Takes a Loss

Doniphan West lost against Clifton-Clyde back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Doniphan West Mustangs took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clifton-Clyde Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Eagles are ranked 126th).

Doniphan West has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Clifton-Clyde, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-5-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clifton-Clyde beat Doniphan West by a score of 55-40 on Friday.
