Northern Guilford had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Asheboro Blue Comets with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 9th.

Northern Guilford's got stronger as the match went on, holding Asheboro to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-8.

Quincy Holoman paced Northern Guilford's offense, picking up nine kills. Holoman got some help from Samantha Chavis and her 14 assists. Chavis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Northern Guilford's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Asheboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
