Baseball Recap: Hanover Area Comes Up Short

Hanover Area managed to slip by Crestwood the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hawkeyes came up short against the Comets on Saturday, falling 11-0. The shutout was out of character for the Hawkeyes seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

Hanover Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conor Engleman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Hanover Area's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Crestwood, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.

Looking ahead, Hanover Area will face off against Tunkhannock at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Hawkeyes are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Crestwood, they will challenge Dallas at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mountaineers have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
